The Slovenian pilot site encompasses an industrial park in the town of Ajdovščina, located in the south-western part of Slovenia. It comprises approximately 340 industrial and commercial buildings connected to the power network managed by the DSO Elektro Primorska. Electrical power is supplied via two 20 kV medium voltage feeders and ten 20 kV/0.4 kV transformer substations. Whilst majority of customers are connected to LV distribution network, several larger industrial customers are connected directly to the MV network. As the existing power network within industrial park in Ajdovščina does not require any significant upgrade to facilitate the implementation of the proposed pilot project, the key step for gauging overall potential is evaluating the available flexibility of a sample of companies present in the pilot site, with most of whom the letters of intent for STREAM involvement have already been signed. Based on the information provided, the aggregated peak power of the sample is approximately 9.4 MW and preliminary field analyses, we estimate that roughly 2 MW of this capacity can be used to provide flexibility services to a flexibility service provider, DSO or TSO.
