The STREAM project held its 5th General Meeting in Terni, Italy, on October 8th and 9th hosted by ASM Terni S.p.A. This meeting brought together all partners to review a progress and discuss challenges.
The meeting opened with a comprehensive overview of the project’s status. The agenda focused on four major deliverables due in early 2025, including the sGRID and sPLAN tools for grid planning and service management, as well as the sMART tool for local energy market development.
The agenda focused on the upcoming deliverables for early 2025, including the sGRID and sPLAN tools for grid planning and service management, and the sMART tool for local energy market development. A major topic of discussion was the sDATA platform, which facilitates secure data exchange between stakeholders like DSOs, TSOs, and market operators. The platform is being integrated into pilot sites across Europe, where it is central to improving energy management.
Presentations from pilot sites in Slovenia, Spain, Italy, and Finland detailed progress and challenges, highlighting the tools’ testing and implementation in real-world scenarios.

The second day of the meeting took place at the ASM Terni headquarters, where participants discussed the sMART and sDATA tools that are being deployed at the Italian pilot site. Another key session addressed the project’s communication efforts, emphasizing how STREAM’s progress is being shared through its website, social media, and participation in industry events.
Participants engaged in workshops, where each pilot site—Slovenia, Spain, Italy, and Finland—shared their experiences, challenges, and achievements. The workshops provided an opportunity for pilot site leaders to present their progress, particularly in integrating and testing the sDATA platform, which is designed to enable secure data exchange between energy stakeholders. These sessions helped foster collaboration, with partners sharing lessons learned and refining their approaches to tool deployment.

The meeting concluded with a forward-looking discussion on the project’s future, including key milestones and the next General Meeting, which will be held in Tampere, Finland, in March 2025. Partners remain focused on finalizing the project’s tools and preparing for their deployment across the pilot sites in the coming months.
After two days of productive discussions and workshops, participants enjoyed a break with a visit to the Marmore Falls, one of the tallest man-made waterfalls in the world. This natural landmark, symbolizing the power of nature and human innovation, resonated with the STREAM project’s mission of blending sustainability with cutting-edge technology.
