From October 16th to 18th, 2024, Osijek, Croatia, hosted the 6th International Conference on Smart Systems and Technologies (SST). The event gathered experts, students, and researchers to discuss advancements in smart systems, with a focus on smart grids, artificial intelligence, and digital energy solutions.
A highlight of the conference was the special session organized by SynGRID, which focused on the role of flexibility in managing low-voltage grids in widening countries. STREAM’s deputy project coordinator, Jan Jeriha, presented the project’s innovative approach to enhancing grid flexibility in Europe.

The session highlighted STREAM’s tools, including sDATA for data integration, sFLEX for flexibility aggregation, and sMART for local market operations. These tools are advancing the development of resilient and flexible energy grids across Europe. STREAM’s pilot sites in Slovenia, Spain, Italy, and Finland are already showcasing the project’s real-world impact.
Collaborating with other EU projects, STREAM is helping to improve grid stability, resilience, and sustainability, playing a pivotal role in the EU’s energy transition.
