Meeting with Local Companies

Elektro Primorska hosted a working meeting with local companies in Nova Gorica as part of the European STREAM project, coordinated by the University of Ljubljana. With development largely complete, STREAM is entering a crucial phase: transitioning to live demonstrations of flexibility management tools in distribution networks.

During the meeting, the main project objectives were presented, along with the key challenges faced by distribution networks: overloads caused by electrification (EVs, heat pumps, increasing demand) and voltage issues caused by dispersed generation (solar PV). The STREAM solution lies in the use of flexibility and local flexibility markets, and this will mark the first time a local flexibility market will be tested within Elektro Primorska’s distribution network.

The companies Tosla and Petrič, both located in the Slovenian pilot site – the Ajdovščina industrial zone, confirmed their participation in the demonstrations. Primarily, solar PV systems will be used, while in Tosla’s case also EV charging stations. Device activations will be scheduled in advance and executed automatically through the Kolektor platform, with no additional costs or negative impacts on business operations.

The first test activations are planned by the end of 2025, while full demonstrations within the STREAM project will follow at the beginning of 2026.
